Makeup can transform any face – add some glow and radiance to the skin, enlarge the eyes and lips, cover any skin defects and change the shape of the face.
It is extremely helpful when we want to look younger! We just need to remember a few important rules when applying makeup.
- Remember to exfoliate and moisturize the skin well before applying the makeup.
- Apply the right primer. Thanks to it, wrinkles and pores are less visible, the skin is smoother and the makeup lasts longer. Some of the best products in my opinion are Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Hourglass, DHC, and Lancome.
- Use a small amount of foundation – it is best to apply with a moistened sponge or brush (just not with your fingers). My favorite is Scott Barnes Pro Series Brushes 68 Ultimate Foundation, which has soft and very flexible bristles that allow you to customize coverage. This brush provides a perfect finish.
- Don’t forget to apply the blush on the apple of the cheeks or on the top of the cheekbone and the bronzer below the blush, under the nose, on the chin line, and on the forehead.
- Don’t be afraid to add a little bit of glow, this helps the skin look younger, revitalized and dewy.
- Choose light colors that enliven the skin. Avoid shimmering shadows that stick to the depression of the wrinkles. Do not be afraid to add some colorful accent e.g. eyeliner that would contrast with the color of your eyes.
- Use the lash curler.
- Use the lip liner to give your lips a symmetrical appearance and to enlarge them slightly.
